This is the farm that my husband's family owned. His grandparents lived in the large house in the center of the photograph. They bought the farm and moved there in the early 1940's when his dad was in high school. My father in law built the house to the right when my husband was young. It was later moved (1975) about a half a mile to the north to its current location when my husband was in high school. His parents bought the neighboring farm and retired there just a few years ago. Most of the buildings are gone, just a couple still remain today. The old house in the left was torn down many years ago, but my husband's grandparents remained in the big house for many years. After they passed away, the house was sold but burned to the ground a few years later. My husband and I still farm this today! I remember the house when we first got married. It was a mail order home from Sears and Roebuck. Had lots of beautiful wood trims and built in cabinetry. We celebrated more than one Christmas with family here when his grandpa was still living. Great memories! Thanks for sharing!!
