This is the corner of Railroad Ave. (Route #134) & Cedar Lake Road in Round Lake, Illinois. The train depot is right front. The Brass Wheel Restaurant is the large bldg. mid-picture, just left of center. Bruce Pharmacy is the akwar shaped bldg. far right and across from train depot. The Round Lake State Bank is just behind and to right of Bruce Pharmacy. The Korner Kitchen is directly below the X that crosses picture frame. Avalon & Goodnow streets are visible as well.

As kids, some friends and I would hop the train from Long Lake to buy candy at the drug store (Bruce Pharmacy) directly across the st. from the train station.

My ancestors, built the building that later became the Brass Wheel Restaurant. It was originally built in 1903 as the Amann Bros Dance Hall and Saloon. The Dance Hall was on the 2nd floor. My grandfather often played cornet as one of the Amann Bros band that performed there.
