This was Stephenson County's "other" Centennial School (it shared its name with another one-room schoolhouse at the southeast corner of Cedarville Road and Farwell Bridge Road). This school operated into the 1950s. The John Drury aerial pictorial "This is Stephenson County" (1955) includes a photo of the school building and indicated that it was discontinued in 1954. The Freeport Journal-Standard reported in September 1956 that voters would decide whether to sell the school building (the voters agreed by a wide margin). The building was sold at auction on October 20, 1956.
