I grew up on this farm, that is my dad's 56 Chevy in the driveway. We rented the house from Laurel Potter, who was one of the finest people I ever met. His son Dick followed in his father's footsteps operating the family farm down the road (State Line Road).

Sadly, the only structure left on the farm now is the metal Quonset hut. The pastures and lawn are tilled under and planted with crop. One of the best things about the place was the cement livestock water trough near the barn. Dad cleaned it, painted the inside, plugged the drain, and filled it with water for us kids to cool off on those hot summer days on the prairie. It was the best--we even called it the "cement pond!"
