My parents farm! Grew up there. Family of 5. Farmed the 68 acres there plus other rented ground. Would love to have it look like that again. Sold after parents deaths, regret.

My father bought this place in about 1993! He wanted to fix it up for us to live there, but it turned out there were severe foundation issues that proved more than he could handle. He sold it several years ago, and from what I hear, the new owners have been restoring it. I havent made it up there since, but I intend to see how it looks! I spent MANY an afternoon running up and down those narrow stairs and arguing with my little brother over who would get the "green room" (it had lime green painted trim)... haha I ended up choosing the blue room after finding out that the green room and the white room had a connecting "secret passage" through the closets.. I couldnt have my little brother sneaking into my room!! ;)

Wish there was a better view of the house though.. I'd buy a copy of this for my dad. He always loved this place and I think it left a big hole in his heart that he was never able to live in it.

Miss, I think you have the wrong property. Our family did not sell this property until 1995.

I may be wrong about the year... im pretty sure its the right house though. I cant remember the address, as it didnt have a mailbox.. I'm trying to remember some specific details that wouldnt have changed..

Other than the weird colors in the bdrms upstairs that i mentioned above, there was an L shaped porch that had a concrete base and the porch ceiling was painted baby blue.. There was a lilac bush right by the porch facing the road.. I remember a trapdoor that led to a cellar in front of a door leading outside in the dining room, or what i think was a dining room, it was right off the kitchen. There was a large metal barn behind the house.. behind that a shed with a bunch of irises growing in front of it.. a rhubarb patch that I used to feast on..

I remember finding papers when we cleaned out the house that said the name Owens on them.. one of those rain man moments that i remember that, since i cant remember where i left my keys each morning..

I was originally on this site looking for an old shot of my grandparents house, and after getting frustrated, i decided to take a break and look for something else..

There was a laundry room right off the kitchen.. it had a wooden shelf high up on the wall to the right of the doorway that had a scalloped pattern along the bottom.. i actually salvaged that shelf and refinished it for my dad right before he sold the house. :)
