I did, indeed, grow up in this church, as well as my parents, siblings, grandparents and aunts. The Mt. Summit Christian Church was truly a church family. We had great Sunday School classes, super youth programs, Vacation Bible School in the summers and choir. This church was the hub of the community. I'll never forget those wonderful days of my youth and early adult years in this church! This structure was demolished and a new church was built close by. Thank you for the photo of this wonderful church!

Is this the one at 36 & Elm St? If so, my grandparents built and lived in the house right behind here on Elm. When my grandmother passed away, the house was sold to the church to be used as the parsonage. The house is still there, but looks very different now. My best childhood memories were from when I lived there with my grandmother.

My grandmother belonged to this church and had her 50th wedding anniversary here in 1960. My parents were married here August 1948. I still have the centennial plate that was my grandmothers! Her name was Opal O'Harra.
