This definitely looks like Don's Garage at the intersection of Morgantown Roand and 600 North, known as Waterloo on many maps.
my great grandparents lived across the road to the south of dons.
The Whitakers? Knew them very well, along with Mrs. Haverstick to their west. I was a classmate of Sue Aldrich, knew her brother Jerry. Part of your family?
Yes that's correct, I am Jerry's son. My mother was Marcia Whitaker
Thanks. I've been gone from the area since '62 actually and the last time I saw many folks was in '08 at our 50th class reunion and the CG alumni dinner. I grew up 1/2 mile east of Don's. It's Smokey Row Estates now. I remember when the original building at Don's was built around '54 or so. Watched the '55 Indy 500 there on a very grainy B&W TV, one of the first in the neighborhood.
