I grew up on this farm. The big house was built in 1889, and was occupied by my grandparents. I grew up in the small house (driveway on the right). The farm was 80 acres, and had a blacksmith shop, a wagon scale building, a carriage building, a barn, a brick smokehouse and laundry house, and there were still remains of an old ice house (ice was cut from the creek) and a brick kiln. The property is just one mile due west from Mt. Auburn, which all the locals back then called it Black Hawk.
