This farm and several of the neighboring farms was settled by John Means in 1794. Succeeding family members to live on this property were Amos Scudder Means, Amos Jefferson Means, Della Mary (Otis) Secrest, Preston Means Secrest & Harold Secrest, Ival & Sandra Secrest (Coon) Platt. The house in this picture was built circa 1825. My sister and I were the last generation to grow up on this farm and then it was sold to Mead Paper circa 1990. In 2005 Mead decided not to use the property and put this farm along with several others up for auction after all buildings had been removed.
