when I was in grade school my oldest brother billy buried my dog Suger across from the barn in back. I remember his little grave site where I put rocks & sticks around it. one day they were bull dozing back there & the man stopped & came inside to ask dad (bill lyon) what to do with the grave site. I think he said just to bull doze it down.
Lyons Store - just across from the Cozy Corner (not seen at bottom) where Uncle Basil & his brothers worked.
The Lyons general merchandise sold about anything ya wanted over to the right they had a creamery, a feed and seed and appliances they had a furniture store in the top of the main store, I remember as kids we used to gather walnuts lay them out on our road, let cars run over them to crush off the hulls we'd get them out dry them in the sun and when we would get a coffee sack or two daddy would haul them up from New Hope to the Lyons Store where we would sell them. Always liked Mr. Henry and miss grace. My Grandpap Masterson was related to Mrs Gracie through marriage if my mind doesn't fail me as my grandmother Masterson was a Brown related to Mrs. Gracie who was a Brown. I always missed the old Henry Lyons store.
