This is my old home place. I grew up here along with 7 other brothers and sisters. It belonged to Bennie and Ora Mae Dingess. As you can see, they raised a beautiful garden every year to feed a family of 10 and a lot of the neighbors as well. When you came to moms house, you always was ask if you were hungry or wanted something to eat. This photo brings back lot's of memories. See the old smokehouse out back? There is a toilet at the end of the last garden. Behind that, on down the path, is the best crawdad hole a kid could ever want. To the right of the house, over th ehill you can see the big old chestnut tree. I ate many chestnuts in my childhood but don't you dare go down there barefooted. We played baseball in he bottom land, along with a few neighborhood kids. The front door was open on hot days, we did't have air conditioning back in those days. It looks like my dads old blue Chevy Nova in the driveway, not 100% sure. My parents have since passed on and this property was left to me. I gave it to my son and he lives there now. It has changed quiet a bit since this photo. The house was pulled back, remodeled and the front and back rooms torn off and 2 rooms added on. It is now 43 Dingess Road. Lots of memories were made here.
