This is Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with the personage in Tatham Springs, Ky. The iron bridge over Chaplin River is in the foreground. All this is gone now.
I was baptize under the bridge in late 50's or early 60's
My father Guy Woodrow Nicholson was born here. on the road (in upper left hand corner) a short distance was the site of Careys' Mill his grandmother. The dam is still there but the mill race has been filled with debris. The last time I took dad down the 1st house along that road he clamed was where the family moved to after the Nicholson home and chair factory had burned down ( it too was near or alongside the Chaplin River. Do you know of where the location of Nicholson Chair Factory may have been on the river? Dad used to fish on the dam. Nicholson chairs were quite an item in the day. Bob Nicholson
