Tom Cook farm Bridgwater Me
Cook Farm, Bridgewater Maine.
Cook's sold the farm in the 90's and the land is currently rented the Whited farms. My fiance (Ryan Cook) has many fond memories of playing and working on this farm formerly owned by his grandparents. The houses and buildings are almost all still standing.
I grew up on this farm. My grandfather, Fred Cook, bought the Dow Farm in 1873. My father, Thomas Cook and uncle, Glen Cook, owned the farm as Cook Bros. farm until my father took it over as Cook Farms. Whiteds now own much of farmed land. The big house was built in early 1900s and the "little" house was built in 1949 by my grandfather, uncle and father. My grandfather lived in this house for 6 months. He was on his way to Florida and his wife, Jane, was killed in a car accident. My family moved into the house in 1957.
The farm was not sold in the '90s. Dad owned it until his death in 2000. My sister and I then inherited it. My sister lived there until her death in 2007 and her husband still lives there.
