Lyon's Market, corner of the Fort Fairfield Road and the East Presque Isle Road in Caribou. Lyon's closed in July of 1969 and reopened as the Corner Store in 1972. It was closed in 1985 and was converted to apartments.

I used walk there with a wagon full of empty bottles and my dog max in the middle of winter to get my oldest brother herb a whoopie pie and coke cola so he could watch the game all for a quarter.....so I could buy penny candy.....okay now the question is was I stupid or just a nieve versus good little sister.

Lyons Market was owned and operated by my dad James Norman Johnson. I loved hanging around there as a kid. I actually worked there after I graduated high school when it was the corner store.

I remember this store very well. I grew up on the East Presque Isle Road. Mom and Dad always bought their local groceries there. Norm Johnson was a very nice man!

We lived across the road Albert & Lucy Hewitt
