Sam's Toyland. South Main Street, Caribou, ME. It is now a storage building.

Set the location.

Fred Bell's garage would be just to the left of this right?

What kid in Caribou didn't love Sam's Toyland? My first two bicycles were bought there. Mr. Albair was a very nice man and so were his employees.

We live in the house to the right od Sam'a Toyland. My Aunt and Uncle , Rose and Lawrence Brissette lived there before us. Lots of the trees and a few of the houses are gone now.

The darker house in the center right of the picture was the home of Carlton and Leona Miller. They lived there for many years where they raised 5 children, Ava, Fred, Bob, Carlene and David. I have fond early childhood memories of picking raspberries with Grammie over near her clothesline we see there and playing in Grampie's sawdust piles at the entrance of the small garage opposite the house. The Millers relocated to Niota Tenn. in 1974. This house was purchased by the Bell's and rented to the Baileys (Sam, Marilyn, Scott, Tim, Karen). It eventually burned in the early 80's I believe and the empty lot is now a part of the Bell property as a back yard area.
