Garrity Farm Portage Lake Maine
Big connection to this farm, I worked for Herbie in the 60's guiding trail rides with the horses. A fun place to be and a huge hang out for all the towns kids.
The house is the only thing still standing even the tree's are gone .
That's just how I want to remember it. Betsy one of the first things I noticed were the 3 big trees still standing. There is the hot dog stand. The only thing missing is old Copper in his field with his mares.
The hot dog stand where I purchased a milkshake from Nellie, their adopted daughter, was it Pam?, Jimmy, their son, horseback riding - This is a beautiful photo! I was a bit terrified of horses, but did brave several rides - always a memorable experience. Used to go snow-mobiling in that area on school nights in the dark!
