The Lyons House on Rt 113 in Hiram. Used to be an inn and tavern in the 1800s, popular with oxen teamsters moving goods from Vermont to Portland. Barn is on stilts... Oxen would be housed underneath and wagons put into the barn. Referenced in "Saco Valley Settlers and Settlements" book. Recent homeowner related to me that a man was killed there in a bar fight when it was an inn and the house is now haunted. I have experienced loud noises, objects moving and the feeling of being watched there. Owner and I both felt the presence strongest upstairs. The L between house and barn was torn down long ago, as was the porch shown on the left.
