This is our home. Purchased in 2004. Reportedly built in 1820 as a Stage Coach Stop.served as the Post Office at one time. Rumor has it the place was a brothel at some point. the small attached building to the main house was a summer kitchen. It has been gone for some time. The main house and garage exist today. The pens in the back yard were for pheasants.

This was the Grover homestead since the early 1900s till the late 1980s.
I lived here from 1971-1980 with my parents and 3 sisters. I’m the early days my grand and great grandparents had a working farm. The upstairs used to be a dance hall back in the day. There was as a beautiful spiral staircase in the living room and a scary one going down to the basement where we stored potatoes and canned goods.
Originally there were over 500 acres (both side of route 9) along with the farm house, garage and barn.

Thank you for posting this great information! The spiral staircase is still in use and the curved door at the top is one of our favorite things! An addition has been added where the summer kitchen was and it has wider/ more proper stairs to the upstairs. Basement stairs were scary! They are being redone. The house now has 5 acres of land.
