Higgins Farm on Rt. 127 in georgetown. My family lived there when this picture was taken. I can see my dads tractor and pickup truck. My parents were George and Eva Bean.
George Higgins, the son of Frederick Higgins and Jane McKinney built this house and out buildings. I have a photo of a very nice painting of the house shared on Georgetown, Maine Once Upon A Time Face Book page. George was the brother of Sarah Jane Higgins, and the first of the Higgins' children to be born. Sarah was the youngest child. Sarah married Millard Oliver of Georgetown and they had thirteen children. My paternal grandfather, Clarence was on of their children. His son, James, was my father. This house fell into extreme disrepair and when I first saw it my Uncle Paul Pierce said someday it would be shoved to the ground. I saw the potential in the very large home with out buildings and said it could be restored. It eventually was restored beautifully.
