Loon Cove Golf Course Skowhegan, ME.

This is not Loon Cove Golf Course in Skowhegan, Maine. The farm pictured here was razed in the late 70s, as I recall. It was owned at the time by a family named White. The farm was located across from the papermill. It was the papermill that bought out a lot of nearby properties---including this one---and either tore down the structures or moved them. The pine trees close to the road still remain to this day.

An update---the pine tree close to the road was cut down this summer, 2017.

The last person that farmed here was Peter Vitalone in the 1970's. He had beef cattle and sold out to the mill which is now Sappi. The land is mostly grown up to trees today. All buildings are gone.
