I lived on this farm part time from 1943 thru 1957 with my Grandparents and Aunt and Uncle and Cousins. The one Cousin now owns and has rebuilt or updated most of the buildings. The house on the right is where my Aunt and Uncle eventually moved to. It was basically an 80 acre, 30 head dairy farm, with hogs as alternate income. The home across the street was owned by a family who had lost the husband in WW2. Later owned by another family who was supported by factory work at the Oldsmobile Plant in Lansing, MI. A second farm south was rented for additional acreage for crops, etc. So many memories, so many good times, so many long hard hours of work.

Archie and Ruth House purchased the farm circa 1920, and has remained in the family for three generations to this day (02/07/2016). Not much has changed since this photo taken in 1972 with the exception of the removal of the hog house on lower right side. Prior to this time, numerous buildings have been removed; Chicken coup, Granary, round metal Brooder house, Woodshed, and of course a 3 hole Privy near the house (prior to indoor plumbing). Since 1972, complete rebuild and modernization of the interior of the home, and restoration to the large barn has been ongoing by Mark House who also maintains all the properties. Kudos to Mark for his time, and expenses for his efforts to keep in place the family heirloom.
