I grew up at 6470 Homerich and currently live at 6539 Homerich. I use to walk down to the Corner Store quite often. All my Liberty Head Dimes are in that pop machine you see on the left of the building. The Van Nest Little League Team practiced just to the south of this location and shared an Orange Crush at the store later. Of course this location is now the intersection of Wilson Ave and M6. It's an expansive intersection that for some reason made 64th Street a dead end 150 yards East of this picture.

Loved that store my neighbors grandparents owned it back when I was a kid rode our bikes there all the time

I grew up on 68th St., about a mile from this store. Used to ride bicycles down there to buy bubblegum baseball cards (wish I still had that collection!). My mom-in-law still likes to tell the story of when she was shopping in the store with her daughter Barb (now my wife) and bumped into my mom and I. At the time, Barb and I were in the same first grade class together at Northwest School. Since she was so shy, Barb hid behind her mom in the store while she was talking to my mom. Who new that we would eventually become high school sweethearts...and have now been married for almost 33 years!

I Terry Bush lived in the first house south of that pitcher right next to the ball field. The pop machine before that one had OSO good orange, grape, masons root beer and I remember when the garage burd down on the cement slab shown!

Oh wow, this is so cool, I to took my bike to this little store. living on 68th st was just a nice short ride that was just enough time to get warm so I could enjoy that cold POP and candy we got from the store, sure miss it.

Wilson Ave Grocery Store! Watched it burn to the ground in the early 90's.
