I grew up here. The original farm house burnt down in 1976

My grandparents' house- lots of great memories from weekend visits, and holiday gatherings.
Original burned; I remember the whole family helping build the new house; I CLEARLY remember someone bumping a ladder, causing a hammer to fall onto my head!!

I left here one cold September morning many years ago. I boarded a gray hound bus in Brighton and departed for Fort Wayne Detroit where I processed into the U.S. Army. I found the world was much larger than Fowlerville Michigan. After over twenty years in the army I went into law enforcement in Seaside California. I left my Mom and Dad and a lot of memories in that old house. In fact I was the one that painted it red. I never dreamed there was a picture of the old place like this one.

This was the original Buckly farm. Merle Buckly and his wife farmed much of the land between Gregory and Fowlerville. She was also a school teacher. I can't remember her first name but my sister would remember it well.

I spent many a week-end at this house. It was my Aunt and Uncle's home...Many memories there lots of fun & laughter with people I love.
