Henning store in Rost with ballfield and the store house

We lived in the house from 1962 to 1966.

We lived in house from Nov 1981 to Oct 1983. My Dad Feodor Henning owned the store . As a family growing up, we spent many hours playing ball on the ballfield since we lived first farm north.

David and Ines lived here from Feb 1966 to 1973 Luke was born March 30th of1966 we enjoyed many ballgames here. Free entertainment for 7 years

I think the original owner of the store was Oren Wendt (spelling may be wrong)? I began school in a one-room wooden building on the corner of the road that led past Rost and that which went North to Okabena. We moved to the newly built school in Rost shortly thereafter. I think Gloria and I were in the same grade. I transferred to Okabena beginning with the sixth grade. I still recall with fond memories walking over to the store during recess "just to look around" mostly. The weekend softball games between the teams of various towns close by was always a highlight. I graduated from Worthington H.S. in 1959 and came back there for our 55th class reunion and drove out to Rost and took videos and walked the cemetery. That one hour brought back years of wonderful memories...
