This is a photo of King Brothers Farm Center, Ayden, NC. Today the road is named Weyerhaeuser Road.

Dawn what is your connection to the King Brothers Farm Center? Is this still there today?
If you know the current address for this photo, I would be happy to update the location on the map!

This building and grain tanks no longer stand and have been gone at least 20 years. The nearest address is a house adjacent at 4554 Weyerhaeuser Rd, Ayden, NC 28513 which is the home of Louis E. King. Louis is my father-in-law and owned King Brothers Farm Center with his older brother, George King, until the 1980's (I think). George and Louis King were natives of Sampson County. George was a veteran of the Korean War and an NC State graduate who obtained a franchise from Purina Mills to build and open this mill in Ayden NC. His brother, Louis King, joined the venture as the builder and operator while George handled the business end. After the mill closed and when the property passed to new owners it was no longer operated as a grain mill; the grain silos were briefly used and then the buildings were torn down. In fact, when the photo was taken (1986?) the road had just a State Road number designation and was not renamed until a few years later after the Weyerhaeuser Plant was built south of Ayden. I can answer some questions about the property or I can ask Louis.
