The old Brubaker farm,we moved here from the Kiser farm after Dad remarried. If I remember right it was 160 acres plus several acres of woods. We milked about 35 cows year round and raised hogs for market. There was a big bank barn where the Quonset barn is now. It had three sets of double doors across the front,it was L shaped and you could pull two wagons and tractor in and have room to turn around in there. The bottom section had 12" or more walls insulated with sawdust. I guess they used to store potatoes in there. When the barn burnt in the early 50's they said it could be seen in Springfield. Lost my first car in that fire!
