Craig Askins farm on Powell road Powell Ohio. The barn originated at the 1893 Chicago World Fair. After the fair it was bought for $100 and trucked to this location and reassembled. After Mr. Askins death the property was sold to the Columbus Zoo. We used it to house animals from our Petting Zoo when it was demolished in 2000 and a new smaller area was built in another location. In time the animals died off and or were relocated and this area became a new Zoo Exhibit. All the buildings other than the house were slated for demolition. Fortunately some area folks stepped in and much of the old barn was saved and relocated yet again. This time it was move a much shorter distance to a Delaware County Parks area called Gallant Farm Preserve.
