Looks like a school. According to Google Earth satellite imagery it was torn down sometime between May 2012 and October 2013.

This was Greeneview Central JHS in Jamestown. I went there in the mid 80's!

It was the school in Jamestown, Ohio. Torn down in 2012?

It was Silvercreek School 1 thru 12 before it was anything else. Built in 1936 and demolished in 2012.

That was my junior high school

I went to this school for 1st , 2nd & 7th and 8th. It was a very well made school. It is very sad it couldn't have been saved and used for another purpose. It would have been a great place to house Cedarville University students. So Sad!

The school had a lot of supporters trying to save it from demolition but without success. It still would have out lasted the current new school buildings if it had been properly maintained. The new buildings are having serious issues already!!

Beautiful. Picture. The first airal I have seen of Silvercreek Hi. Four generations of our family attended there-6 graduating and 3 attending a few years before moving. Would love to have copy of the photo

I walked down that side-walk for many years. My parents and other family member went there. My last years of high school, I lived across the street from it. I got my first taste of the stage in its gym. It was being torn down on my last visit home. I would cry if I walked down that side-walk again. Not to see something that was part of my life, as far back as I can remember.

Went there from 1971-1973 then on to the high school before graduating in 1977. Spent many Fridays on that football field in the background. Marched in Drill Team and Keith was in the band.

I was one of them that tried to save it but the school board was to powerful. They wanted it tore down and didn't care what they did or said to accomplish it. If they hadn't planted those trees so close to the school it would not have flooded. The school was so well built that if there was a tornado you could go to the basement and it would be safe. Where will the kids go now? Just think about it. It was so sad.

I was very young, hadn't started school yet. My family and I lived in London but we visited my cousin and her husband, Jim and Norma ( Baughn ) Evans. I think Norma graduated from this school. The first time I remember seeing ( and hearing!) July 4th fireworks. I'm thinking they were set off in the lot behind this school. The noise was so frightening that I buried my head and cried! This may not be the same school. It was many years ago.

This definitely was one of the most picturesque schools in the county. It's architectural style is not typical for a township/small community's school building and looks more like buildings on Ohio's college campuses and would look right at home on Miami or Ohio University's campuses. Very sad that it is gone.

Newer views of this school are below; the first one is from a very similar perspective 31 years later.

Went there in 8th grade after moving from Xenia. Loved it. I would not have stayed in school if we had not moved there. I was there during demolition, and let me tell you, it didn’t go down easy! The new schools are garbage. Far as I’m concerned, Jamestown died with that being torn down and 35 being rerouted. Nice memories

Went there in the 70s
