Albright Turkey Farm, St. Route 61 South near Peru, Ohio

On the east side of Rt 61 across from Graham Rd. Run by Clayton Albright & Sons. The poultry farm was begun in 1932 and was only turkeys since 1950. Sadly it is mostly gone today. By the mid 1970s the trees had nearly overtaken the pond. By the early 1990s several of the buildings were gone. In 2012 all the remaining buildings except the two story turkey barn and the barn on the left with the Albright sign were removed. The pond is filled in today. Photos 9 and 10 are different views.

In 1969 they sold 400,000 turkey eggs, all to the Cuddy Turkey Hatchery in Canada. A few months later they would buy their poults from Cuddy for market turkeys. In the 2000s they sold about 14,000 birds each year.

This was my Grandfather's farm. The bank barn was torn down, feed mill and grain bins and out buildings are gone as well as the farm house.
