I believe this is my parent's farm at 9621 Overly Rd, Fredericktown, Oh 43019. Built in the late 1880's, the house and main (tallest) section of the barn were built on this site. The south section of the barn was a hay shed that was originally built on the west side of the property, and was taken apart, raised up several feet, and rebuilt to combine with the main barn. My father's family originally built & lived on this farm, and it was sold out of the family for 50+ years before my parents purchased it.

Currently, the line of trees on the east side of the road are gone, the garden has been replaced with an outdoor wood burning furnace, a couple ornamental bushes, 2 chestnut, one walnut, and several apple and pear trees nearest to the pasture. (So a similar photo from today, the house would not be visible.) The two small sheds on the south side of the pic are gone, but the long narrow shed with white outlined windows is dilapidated, but still there. The tree line on the west side of the pasture is gone, and been replaced with high tensile fence. Pasture was added in the upper right of the pic (north side), and pastures to the south were widened & divided. Unseen in this picture is the garage on the north side of the house, and the corn crib which stands north of the garage in the barn lot. Corn crib was built by my parents when they farmed but has since been rehabbed into work shop/storage & has had east & west wings added for trailer storage.

The slate roof on the house has been replaced with standing seam, and the roof of both sections of the barn has been replaced with steel roofing (previously shakes topped by standing seam on the hay shed, and slate on the main barn.) Had this photo been taken on the north side of the barn, you would have seen the date the barn was built written in the slate (1889).
