I remember when I was a small girl playing in the front yard (when Grama Oliva Finnegan lived here) and a huge giant bird was flying overhead. It was in the early 1960s and it reminded me of a prehistoric giant bird, anyway I ran to the front porch to hide. I always wondered if he was looking at me for his meal that day.

I loved getting to stay at Grama's when we'd visit every summer at the end of our vacations. I remember pushing that scooter down the driveway and it wasn't easy with those rocks. Tim and I would chase the pigs like they were cattle which was probably stupid since they were quite large. I remember, when I was very young, we were celebrating Grandpa's birthday and he said if you didn't sing you didn't get cake, and Terry, the eldest Grandchild, didn't sing and for a while Grandpa wouldn't let them give him cake, but he eventually got some. I was only in 2nd Grade when Grandpa died and we flew in for the Funeral. Aunt Betts, I recall one day, before you and Bren were married, that you had your hair in curlers & Uncle Brendan was feeling rowdy and grabbed you and put your head under the outside faucet and got your head all wet. I remember going out with my Dad, Uncle Hugh, and Uncle Bren on occasion when they'd be bailing hay or just getting to ride on the tractor. Being a city girl, one would think I wouldn't like the smell of the barn, but for some strange reason, I did. I loved hanging out with my cousins running through the cornfields, having relay races and just having fun and being silly without a care in the world.
Love that Finnegan Farm.
