Yankee Lake (lake and ballroom)
Yankee Lake, man-made, originally called Lingamore Lake. The ballroom opened in 1928. Every top act during the big band era played here. In 1979 the lake was drained.
The ballroom has been used for many things. In the 1990s I attended many antique shows there. More recently the lake bed has served as the muddy course for Truck Night.
