"The Lantern" and the car wash in Yatesboro, PA. Google maps calls it "Landmark Apartments" and car wash. I seem to recall the Post Office for Yatesboro was in the Lantern building in the 1960s but I could be wrong. I think it's one of the buildings originally build by the R. & P. Coal Company. Yatesboro was built as a coal company town. Company houses were later sold off when the mines closed. My dad's parents and other relatives lived there.

My father Daniel C White owned this car wash.(White's Car wash). The Landmark was owned by Ernie Smith and it was used for tanning and excercise classes. Live bands were on weekends for dances. Later turned into apartments. The car wash was sold to Ernie Smith and operated as a car wash till the present day. 2018.
The Landmark was the Yatesboro post office on right side from this view. Minnie Connell had a penny candy store in the front part for many years. The little white building to the left was the voting house.
