My husband and I bought this farm in 1995, and I continue to live here. Will pass it on to my son in a few years.
Photo no. 22: current address is 155 Fogelsanger Road, Shippensburg, PA
Shippensburg farm: house, and most likely the bank barn, built 1775-76 by Colonel Culbertson. Subsequently owned by William Moore, William or James Moore, Dr. Sturgis, and George and Johanna Sturgis Himes and Himes' heirs, including Rees Himes. In mid-20th century, bought by Fogelsanger family, then sold to Eichelberger family in 1995, who continue to farm the land.
This was owned by my great uncle Glen Fogelsanger. My family still owns the farm nextdoor. Great memories growing up!
What type of farming was done here?
It was a dairy farm when my relatives owned it.
From 1995 to present, this has been a beef cattle and crop farm. It is now on the Cunberland County Historical Society's roster of historic farms.
Hello Judy,
Have you found any other farms from their roster in our photos?
