When I grew up there from 1932 to 1952,, it had been a coal company store.. then Mr Gatto bought it and ran the store....
George Agosti was the butcher...
My brother Leo Facetti worked there one summer..as clerk....
Bad fire there last month. I think the building was destroyed.
I remember Gattos store. I was from St Marys but had friends in Dagus Mines and spent time in Kersey. I also knew Leo Facetti when he lived in an apartment off Atlantic St in St Marys. Enjoy reading these memories about Kersey area.
I remember Gatto’s store so well. Whenever I got money for my birthday, I went to Gatto’s to spend it all. We lived across the street, so I always walked over. They used to call my Mom and told her how much I spent on candy and lipstick.
