According to the website, "Dooling Hall (then known as DeSales Hall) and Wills Hall were the first two buildings constructed on campus. Ten thousand people attended the ground-breaking ceremonies on May 17, 1964. It is named for Fr. J. Stuart Dooling, the University's first president."
