The Frederick Kinsey, Sr. and Geneva Whitcher Kinsey farm, on what is now Kinsey Road, in Barton, this was the childhood home of my father, Fred Kinsey. He grew up there with his brothers, Bob and David. When Fred Kinsey, Sr. left, the 3 sons carried on the farm, with their mother, Geneva, and the help of their grandparents, Fred and Kitty Whitcher. Fred Whitcher owned and operated the H.O. Whitcher Store on Upper Main St. in Barton.

Was called Crystal Springs Farm.

As the date of this photo is 1966, the Crystal Springs Farm was being run by my step-grandfather Stanley Foss and his wife Wilma who was my grandmother. Not too long after this picture was taken, the old truck that is seen in the grass up by the high drive entry was pushed into the open "cut" seen on the left side of the view and the "cut" was filled in. In the open middle area obscured in this view a pole barn type "tool shed" was built to store the tractors, etc. from the weather. I spent all of my summers in the mid-late 70's working on this farm helping with the summer haying and chores. Stan always had registered Jersey cows. It is likely Stan driving the tractor in this picture. I still have the original colored framed wall painting of this image that hung in the farm house hanging on the wall in my home in Northfield, VT. Great memories of growing up on this farm.
