My granddaddy, Tom Bishop, built this house, in front of their original home, in the early 1900's. This 75-acre farm is part of the original land grant given to Nathaniel and Matthew Laffoon, by the King of England. There is a Laffoon family cemetery located behind the house. It is still in our family, owned by my Aunt Edna Bishop Jones.
Is the original land grant given in the 1900s was it for all the family in Lunenburg, Va. Did many settlers come from England to move to Lunenburg, Va.? Is this picture in the Historical Lunenburg historical society?
