My parents built this house. This barn had some interesting history if you would like to know about it.
I live at the end of Memory lane and would love to know more history about the area and anything Colvin farms related.
When my parents bought the barn and 7 acres in the 80s , there were cow skulls and bones everywhere. There were also owls. Big large white owls that would attack you occasionally if you went up into the hay loft. The owl guy on Valley View Rd would come out and check on them. One of the owls got electrocuted on the powerlines once. They were the same owls that were in the barn, on the parkway, that is now a brewery. Noone ever said what happened to those owls, although I believe they moved the parkway to not destroy the barn because of the owls. Mr. Colvin bought the 5 acres across the street back soon after we moved in and planted peanuts and a garden. I always enjoyed talking to him, even being a teenager. He was an interesting conversationalist. I went to see him a couple years before he passed, just to hear some of his stories again.
