Ellsworth School, Middlebourne WV

It's gone from the young people to the old people, and the old are getting as much good from it as the young ones did,

I started school there in 1949 and graduated from 8th. grade in 1957. Had a lot of good teachers. They enforced the rules set pretty good. One rule was no walking on grass immediately around school, you had to stay on sidewalks. Another was at recess you had choice of playing in gym or out on playground. Once me and another boy were on playground and decided to go to the gym and got caught. Received a few licks with the paddle. I was a member of the school patrol in 8th. grade and got to go to Washington DC. At the school auction in 1993 I purchased the annex class room on the left and use it as a workshop.

I went to school there from the 4th until going to Tyler County high school in 1964.
