My parents, Robert and Lynn Stay, own this farm and I grew up here. When this photo was taken they did not live there. In the last 34 years of my parents owning this farm, much has changed! The old barn on the right of the picture was torn down as well as many of the other small out buildings. The house was also torn down and a new one was built in 1993 in the old ones place. There are 3 silos now & this photo shows only one. There is also a barn addition to the newer barn. The trees around the house are also gone.
My uncle owned this farm.
My wife’s aunt and uncle, Eddy and Myrtle Serum, (Justin Serum’s uncle) owned this farm along with other 3 others. They bought it from Ella Schultz after her husband Walt died in about 1965. (They also owned the farm in photo 5, where we now live.)I think the new barn was built in about ‘67 or ‘68. This farm was sold in the mid’ 70s.
