The people have changed.

The cows are the same black and white. I used to be dropped off there for weeks at a time. I was a city boy from Milwaukee. I used to sit outside and wait for the rocks from the quarry after blasting to fly through the air and hit my head. My favorite cat was named "Red ball". The county fair was the greatest thing ever. Of course there was softball with a pitcher named "Worm" who had an arch that seemed like the ball came out of the sky. Fair popcorn was the greatest, so buttery that the bag in which it was in would fall apart from all the butter. lol A barn fire to the south I can remember. Lots of black smoke I could see from the pastor. One stampede, because some bicycle race that scared the cows. I quickly grabbed my small cousins and we ran to a huge thistle bush which for some reason saved us. I took a bath in the afternoon while the water line was dug up and my uncle Dave got a little wet I guess. Grandpa Bill took me too town and told all of his friends about it. Firecrackers well that was just a normal thing, there was a big supply of them and I love destroying my grandmas favorite flowers. Funny later in life I became a combat engineer and learned about blasting caps and all kinds of fun things like mines a bobby traps. Our family broke up for a while but after a few misunderstandings we are back together. Glad we can still say that the farm is still there. I really miss those chocolate shakes that my Grandma Rosie used to make for me on those hot nights.
