The Frank & Mildred Heller farm. I moved here in 1965 after my mom married my stepdad, and moved away in 1973 after graduating from high school. It was a dairy farm. We also raised chickens, ducks and geese in the summer for fall butchering. I remember a few years of making maple syrup from the sap from the trees in the hardwoods. Dehns ice cream factory was to the east, at the top of the hill. The town hall for the township of Hartland is on the north side of the highway. The road here is highway 29. Later the highway was moved to south of the farm and widened to four lanes. The ‘old Hwy 29’ was renamed County Highway BE.
