Olgar Kolstad built the house in 1948, and the barn in 1955. There was a house and barn on the farm already (north of these buildings near a large rock outcropping). The power company wouldn't run power lines to the old homestead, so Grandpa had to build new buildings nearer the road. At the time this photo was taken the farm was owned by my Dad Orlan Kolstad. The small white building farthest away is a corn crib made from repurposed lumber of the South Kickapooo Church when it was taken down (early 1970s).
