I'm going to guess the intersection of Old US 40 and South Main St in Concordia MO. The Texaco is now a Conoco.
I hope this is the right link: http://g.co/maps/797j2

Gretchen, great guess! This little ice cream shop in the corner looks strikingly simliar to that one in the Google Street View. This location is long ways away from Missouri though! :)

The more I looked, the less sure I was. The street view in MO has too few trees. They are both Cree-Mee Freezes though!

I'd not heard of Atlantic gas stations, so I looked them up. They were headquartered in Philadelphia and merged with the California-based Richfield Oil to form ARCO in 1966. Atlantic was primarily centered in Pennsylvania and Delaware; however they had spread along most of the East Coast by the time of the merger. For more information see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic...

This photo's location is indeed along the East Coast. The gas station and house next door are both still there, although the gas station looks rather dilapidated now.

After reading more on the Atlantic Petroleum Wikipedia page, I think that this station has probably been converted to a Sunoco, but after using the Sunoco station locator on their website to check quite a few Pennsylvania locations, I havn't come up with anything concrete. I have done a rough check in Philadelphia and Harrisburg... Is it worth continuing the search in PA? One of the streets is much more of a "main" street than the other, and it has a curve on it, which should be distinctive on Google Maps.

Andrew, the Atlantic gas station now seems to be empty and run-down. The Cree-Mee Freeze across the street has become a gas station I believe, but I'm not sure if it's a Sunoco. I'll go ahead and rule out Pennsylvania for you. :)

Thanks Lance for ruling out PA. Fortunately I was only up to the counties beginning with "C" when I saw your post. My guess, based on the vehicles, was this photo was taken no later than 1965. It turns out this photo was taken in 1963 and the photo page reveals the precise location. So, here are a few more hints about the location shown (based on the latest Google Street View): the Texaco is still there, the outbuilding (garage?) between the Atlantic station and the house is gone, and the Cree-Mee Freez has been replaced by an All Stop convenience store selling Solo gasoline. The tree in the nearest corner of the intersection is no longer there, and that corner is now occupied by a fairly new and sizable volunteer fire company station.

Ok, with all those clues, I found it! It's in MD. http://g.co/maps/bc2sc If I'd had the patience to search all the Texacos, I guess I might have found it, eventually LOL.

Great work Gretchen! Which clue gave it away?

It was the All Stop, and knowing it was on the East Coast. Also, when Tony mentioned the fire station, I knew that was the right corner. I'm kind of sad the Cree-Mee Freeze is gone LOL.

At the stop light from left to right: 1959 Desoto, 1959 Chevy, 1961 Plymouth, 1959 Olds?

I love an old DeSoto...
