This is the old cotton gin at Jones Chapel, in Cullman County, Alabama. There are parts of the gin that still exist today but the surrounding area has changed dramatically.
My great aunt and uncle were Cora and Adrian Law. They lived in Jones Chapel and there was an old abandoned cotton gin behind their house. Us kids used to play in it back in the 1970's. I would love to know if this is the same one. Where is this located, please?
Hi April,
I'm not able to give you an exact location (due to new buildings in the area) but I believe it lies somewhere around Bethel Battle Ground Rd. and County Road 1133. If you're on mobile below the comment section and buying area is a map, on desktop it's to the right of the photo. I hope this helps!
Thank you, Alexis! That does help a lot. I don't live too far from the area, so I think it's time for a road trip. Maybe my husband and I can locate it. I know it wasn't very far from the covered bridge and mill. Thanks again!
