This is my families old homeplace. This 10 acre - 2 Tyson Layer Houses and cattle farm was purchased from the Brown family. Mr. Fulilove owned property to the rear of these chicken houses that land was sharecropped with sweet potatoes. Mr. And Mrs. Clark lived accross the road - and were the best neighbors I have ever lived by. Mrs. Clark's blind sister - Mrs. Kuykendall lived next door to the Clark's.
The old address to this farm is Route 17 Box 1047 Cullman Alabama 35055
This is where my parents taught my older sister and I what true hard work was - 7 days a week 3xs a day during peak season - and individual responsibility. This is where my greatest childhood memories are stored - in this picture.
Nothing remains of the farm - its unrecognizable land that appears to have never been any sort of farm.. the house still stands last check years ago.. but is severely dilapidated. My parents lived here from late 84 - to 92 before selling the farm back to the same Brown family who had sold it... they approached my parents several times wanting to buy back the farm. My parents settled with a good deal and built the home they now reside in near Holly pond on County Road 1650.
