This house on Tucker Road was built by my parents, Dennis & Penny Davis Tucker, who still live there. My sister, Mallory Tucker Schrimsher, and I grew up here. Initially, there was a little white house in the clear part of the yard near that my parents purchased in 1979 when they married. (It was built in 1956 for my great-great grandmother, Lula Chambers Casteel, in the later part of her life. I’m not sure who all owned it after her but I believe my parents bought it from Marvin Tucker-my grandfathers brother.) My family lived in that little house until this house was built around 1992. It took my dad, my grandpa, and uncles about a year to complete. They worked on it in the evenings after their day jobs and every weekend. Once completed, my grandparents, Roy “Nubbin” & Estelle Adams Tucker, purchased the little house from my parents and had it moved a little ways down the road on their property. There are trees in that cleared area now in 2020. Until seeing this, I forgot that the area was so bare for a few years from having that house on it. It’s awesome to see this and neat to show my kids. A treasure I never knew existed.
