My grandfather bought this place in 1945.

The white building was what the family lived in after my grandfather bought it. My dad put the white siding on it in the 1970's when he was using it as a tv shop. This building was apparently moved here from another location nearby maybe when they moved or put the railroad in???. I believe the building was the original Piney Station post office from the 1880's. My aunt said there was a trap door in the floor in the back room where there is a dug out area underneath. My grandfather used to drop them through that when the weather got bad. Piney has been hit by a few tornadoes over the years. There is a concrete storm cellar that my grandfather and three oldest aunts built in 1945. You can see it at the back left corner of the white building.

There is a concrete slab to the right of the white building and that used to be a garage.

My grandfather was a fisherman and sort of jack of all trades. There was a stream everyone called 'The branch' to the left out of the picture. There were a couple of pond areas in there where they would keep the fish. The branch fed into the Arkansas River maybe a half mile below there. The dark building to the right was apparently used as a kitchen. Some other buildings/additions had been built and torn down.
