Haunted tavern

Haunted Tavern near Payson. This was the Charles A. Pfanschmidt Farm. On September 29th 1912, Mr. Pfanschmidt, his wife, their daughter, and a country schoolteacher boarding with the family were axed to death in the Pfanschmidt home that stood where the tavern is in this photo and where a house stands currently.

It was torn down. A home is there now.
